Gartner® Names Astelia a Sample Vendor in Unified Exposure Management Platforms 

Gartner named Astelia a Sample Vendor in the Unified Exposure Management Platforms (UEMP) category of its Emerging Tech Impact Radar: Preemptive Cybersecurity (11 September 2026). We're proud of it because in our view it validates the premise Astelia is built on: reachability is foundational to exposure management, and that holds even as frontier AI models reshape the scale and speed of new exploits.

How frontier models are forcing this change

Security teams have triaged vulnerabilities by severity score on the assumption that scoring buys enough time to patch before an attacker acts. Gartner's report explains why that assumption is failing:

"Frontier AI models and agentic harnesses are increasingly capable of discovering vulnerabilities and chaining together otherwise unrelated vulnerabilities into coordinated, multistage attack paths that exploit dependencies across complex enterprise architectures. Attackers have typically exploited vulnerabilities faster than defenders have remediated them, and AI-driven capabilities will accelerate this gap."

Deprioritizing a finding because it "seems" low-risk stops being defensible when an attacker's reconnaissance-to-exploit cycle runs at machine speed.

UEMPs are the future of exposure management

Gartner defines the category like this:

"Unified exposure management platforms (UEMPs) unify the functions of discovery and contextual prioritization, active and/or passive exposure validation that provides technical or functional evidence of exploitability, and automated or orchestrated risk mitigation within a single platform. UEMPs are essential for adopting a preemptive security strategy as they enable organizations to embed more end-to-end exposure management automation to neutralize exposures before adversaries can exploit them."

Strip out the analyst language and the idea is simple: stop treating discovery, validation, and remediation as disconnected tools stitched together with spreadsheets. Unify them into one system that can prove exploitability and act on it. Gartner backs that trajectory with numbers:

"By 2028, at least half of the exposure management solutions will consist of unified exposure management platforms (UEMPs) — up from less than 5% in 2025 — driven by the need to consolidate fragmented security data and unify siloed exposure management processes."

Reachability analysis as passive validation

Astelia's approach is built on passive exposure validation.

We don't validate exposure by attacking your environment. We map network topology through read-only integrations, then use agentic AI to reason through the exploit requirements a vulnerability would actually need — network path, privileges, dependencies — against that real topology.

That reasoning produces evidence in both directions: the specific conditions that make a vulnerability reachable, or the technical grounds for why it isn't exploitable in this environment. Of the vulnerabilities your scanners flag as critical, roughly 1% turn out to be reachable by an attacker. The other 99% get cleared with the same rigor. Remediation follows from that evidence: configuration changes, segmentation, or compensating controls, matched to how the exposure is actually reachable.

What this means for security teams

In our view, organizations that want to defend their vulnerability programs against AI-driven threats need to incorporate UEMPs grounded in reachability analysis: validation based on what's actually exploitable.
