Gartner® Recognizes Astelia Among Top-Funded Startups in Preemptive Exposure Management

I’m proud to share that Astelia has been recognized by Gartner® in its April 2026 report, Emerging Tech: Top Funded Startups for Preemptive Exposure Management (Luis Castillo & Elizabeth Kim), as part of the Unified Exposure Management Platform (UEMP) category.

For Astelia, this recognition reinforces the direction we’ve taken from day one: exposure management, in our view, must move beyond visibility and prioritization into validated, actionable risk reduction grounded in reachability analysis.

Why Unified Exposure Management Matters

For years, security teams have been forced to stitch together point solutions: one tool for discovery, another for validation, and yet another for remediation workflows. The result is fragmentation, alert fatigue, and long delays between identifying a risk and actually neutralizing it. In many organizations, exposure management has become an exercise in reporting rather than risk reduction.

Unified Exposure Management changes that model. Instead of disconnected signals, UEMP brings exposure assessment, validation, and mobilization together in a single operating layer. This creates a closed loop where risk isn’t just identified, it’s confirmed, prioritized, and reduced.

Gartner’s research points to just how significant this shift will be:

“By 2028, at least half of the exposure management market will consist of unified exposure management platforms (UEMPs) — up from less than 5% in 2025.”

In our view, this projection aligns with we’re already seeing from customers: security leaders need fewer dashboards and more measurable outcomes.

Astelia’s Reachability Analysis Approach

At Astelia, our focus has always been on reachability over volume. We don’t treat every vulnerability as equal, and we don’t assume that visibility alone reduces risk. What matters is whether an attacker can actually move through the environment and reach something that matters.

By mapping real network topology and analyzing exploit requirements using agentic AI, Astelia pinpoints the ~2% of vulnerabilities that are reachable and exploitable within a specific environment, and delivers evidence-based remediation options that align security and IT.

This approach fundamentally changes the economics of exposure management. Instead of spreading effort thin across thousands of issues, teams concentrate on what actually reduces risk.

Market Confidence in the UEMP Vision

The market momentum behind unified exposure management is unmistakable. UEMP startups are emerging as one of the most capital-concentrated segments within preemptive exposure management.

In Astelia’s case, our $35 million in funding reflects that same confidence, from investors who believe this approach scales and from customers who depend on it to defend complex hybrid environments. Capital follows clarity, and increasingly clarity means platforms that close the assess-validate-act loop.

The Next Phase Is Unified

We view this recognition in Gartner research as both an honor and a responsibility. Exposure management is evolving quickly, and the stakes are rising as attack surfaces expand, time to exploit continues to narrow, and adversaries move faster.

At Astelia, we believe Unified Exposure Management isn’t just a category. It’s a necessary evolution, and we’re proud to build what comes next.
